Now THIS is a cool challenge for Christmas Day! Time Out Challenges #203 wants us to be inspired by "inspiration!" So many possibilities! So, I got to thinking about how a scripture quote could be perfect for this challenge, and after I spotted this gorgeous paper in our upcoming Flowering Fields DSP, I knew just which one I wanted, and it's not too shabby for Christmas Day either, lol, and I even got in lots of layers. So much wonderful scripture inspires me, especially "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given." Glory to the newborn King. God Verses 2 by Our Daily Bread; Flowering Fields DSP; Basic White, Coastal Cabana & Soft Suede CS; Soft Suede & Coastal Cabana Stamp-n-Write Markers; Layering Circles Dies; Frosted Epoxy Droplets; #TOC203. What a great quote from Da Vinci for this week's Time Out Challenge #201 - now THIS is a call for a CAS card! I think I kept it pretty CAS, but managed a bit of sophistication, too. I really wanted to go back to my I Am set from Divinity Designs - today's John 15:1 quote is such a profound one. Seems to answer Da Vinci's quote on a few levels for me, lol. Anyway, while I kept the image and sentiment sparse, I also really dialed up the texture for my background, and couldn't resist a few soft green gems to finish things off. I even sponged some "vine" on my envelope from the diecut leftovers! I Am from Divinity Designs; Basic White, Early Espresso & Pear Pizzazz CS; Early Espresso & Pear Pizzazz Ink; Layering Circles & Harvest Dies; Painted Texture EF; Genial Gems; #TOC201. Oo, what a perfect theme for a great anniversary! Time Out Challenge #200 wants us to think "precious!" So, I just returned from a 3-day Centering Prayer Silent Retreat, and it was such a refreshing and rejuvenating time. I had plenty of space to reflect on the term "precious" while I was there, and to celebrate the fruits of the spirit we found. So when I spotted this quote from Romans 15:13 in my new Holy Spirit set from Divinity Designs, I knew I had found my "precious," lol. I am definitely "overflowing" right now, and hope I can share that spirit with all of you... Holy Spirit by Divinity Designs & Nature's Harvest Stamp Sets; Harvest Meadow DSP; Basic White & Crumb Cake CS; Crumb Cake Ink; Misty Moonlight Stamp-n-Write Marker; Harvest & Hippo & Friends Dies; Brushed Metallic Dots; #TOC200. Oo, good one! The Sisterhood of Crafters would like us to showcase stencils this week! After I got to make a lovely scripture card for TSOT last week, I thought I'd go check and see if there was anything new out at Divinity Designs - and I'm delighted that I found TWO new sets to me, one of which is this gorgeous collection of John "I am" sayings. The set is naturally called "I Am," lol. So perfect. And also just right for floating over my favorite cracked glass stencil in the Plenty of Patterns set - a match made in Heaven! I Am Stamp Set, Divinity Designs; Basic White CS; Blushing Bride, Soft Sea Foam, So Saffron & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks; #TSOCStencils. I am loving our mix-it-up combo this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #525! Some folks may already know this about me, but I have one tiny stampin' indulgence outside of my beloved Stampin' Up! The scripture sets at Our Daily Bread, now called Divinity Designs, are a real indulgence for me. I swear, I do get every scripture set SU! makes, but the detailed verses from Divinity just can't be beat. I don't often get a chance to feature them on cards, but the cards I make with them always inspire my prayer practice! Today's card, with its reminder of His compassion, really spoke to me today... I can't wait to see YOUR takes on this week's mix-it-up - meet you at the challenge! Our Daily Bread Scripture Collection 1; Harvest Meadow DSP; Soft Suede & Basic White CS; Soft Suede & Calypso Coral Stamp-n-Write Markers; Layering Ovals Dies (retired); Leaves Trinkets (retired); #TSOT525. Gorgeous combo over at this week's In{k}spire Me #455! Check out those colors! I got to thinking, I haven't done a pretty scripture card lately - I bet I can find a stamp that fits that banner shape! And of course I did, from Our Daily Bread's Scripture Collection 6. I don't think I've stamped this one before! Anyway, the colors really reminded me of all the lovely prints from our beautiful Harvest Meadow DSP pack, so I pulled in some of those sheets for this one, too - so pretty! I even cut out a few stems in the coordinating colors, too! Our Daily Bread Scripture Collection 6; Harvest Meadow & So Saffron Stack DSP; Basic White & Pool Party CS; Early Espresso Ink; Harvest Dies; Banner Triple Punch (retired); Genial Gems; #IM455. We're closing out the year at SU Only #265 with a "winter" challenge - perfect! I knew right away that for a winter theme, I HAD to use my beloved Feels Like Frost DSP - the photo sides of these papers never fail to amaze me, and the silver designs on the other aren't too shabby either, lol. I chose this lovely snowy scene, and broke it up a little into columns. Then I went hunting for a pretty sentiment. I've always loved this quote from Psalm 55, so I've saved this Blessing From Heaven set since 2011 just to keep it handy - looks gorgeous over the pretty scene! I can't wait to see YOUR winter projects, too - see you at the challenge! Blessings From Heaven (retired 2011); Feels Like Frost DSP; Whisper White & Pretty Peacock CS; Pretty Peacock Ink; Adhesive Backed Snowflakes; Banners Pick a Punch; SUOC265. Pumpkin Club January 2! I'm back at Time Out Challenges #166 for the "peaceful" challenge - what a great idea! During these stressful times, I have to come right out and say, I think it is my daily contemplative practice that is keeping me at peace. I don't talk about my faith too often, but twice a day, I have 20 minutes that I offer up to Him, to use as He will, and my heart is clearer for it, I think. This set retired last year for us, but I have hung on to it for this sentiment, which I think perfectly captures my contemplative time, and His peace. How can I help but be grateful? Peace to you all! Lilypad Lake Stamp Set (retired); Whisper White & Pool Party CS; Pool Party & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Petal Pink Blends Marker; Lakeside Dies; Petal Pink Faceted Dots; #TOC166. Pumpkin Club July 25! Did you get your July Pumpkin kit yet? Let's light up the night! Check out the video HERE! Such a cute sketch this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments #338! I went browsing through my retiring sets again today (I don't really want to say how many I'm saying goodbye to this year - ouchie!) and realized that my beautiful Hold on to Hope set hasn't been out in a while - I so love this Isaiah quote! I stamped off the pretty vine in Soft Sea Foam for my background, and then stamped one to cut out full strength in Pear Pizzazz. I used a marker to touch up the Curry flowers, and floated a layered cross over all that. Simple and perfect! Hold on to Hope Stamp Set; Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla & Early Espresso CS; Soft Sea Foam. Pear Pizzazz & Early Espresso Inks; Crushed Curry Stamp-n-Write Marker; Cross of Hope Dies; #HSS338. Man Cards May 16! So glad to see another tic-tac-toe at this week's Retro Rubber #127! For today's row, I went with the diagonal - Green-Diecut-Nature. I knew right away I wanted to pull out my old Inspired by Nature set - 2008, but still so elegant! I paired it this time with this wonderful scripture from Ecclesiastes 3, this one from Our Daily Bread's Scripture Collection 1. Something seems to be going on with them - they might now be Divinity Designs? Anyway, this collection is also an old one, but I'm not able to find a year, sigh. I do love it paired with the simple grass image, though! Simple and perfect! Inspired by Nature (retired 2008) & Scripture Collection 1 (ODB) Stamp Sets; Gray Granite, Early Espresso & Whisper White CS; Old Olive Ink; Early Espresso & Old Olive Stamp-n-Write Markers; Rectangle Stitched Dies; Textured Weave Ribbon in Gray Granite; Clear Epoxy Droplets; #RRCB127.
