Love this pretty landscape sketch from this week's Hand Stamped Sentiments #365! So happy for a chance to ink up another new set - I got a few "just for fun" ones this round, which isn't usually like me, lol. At the top of that list is the new Measure of Love set - but you never know, I might squeeze it into some class or other, lol. The adorable little food scale is so cute, and there are a few different choices of cute things to put ON the scale! Size constraints held me to this sweet little row of hearts (which is a decoration for a mixing bowl, lol) but I figured it went just fine with this sentiment. Gotta still be practical while we're being all cute! Measure of Love Stamp Set; Pattern Party DSP; Basic White, Coastal Cabana & Flirty Flamingo CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Poppy Parade Inks; Bermuda Bay Blends Marker; Stitched Shapes Dies (retired); Rhinestones Basic Jewels; #HSS365.

Here I am back again at Less Is More #442, with the lovely theme of "sea creatures!" Hopefully I can follow directions this week, lol. I just couldn't resist going back to our now-retired Whale of a Time DSP - I'm pretty sure this paper still holds first place in all of time in my heart, lol. I am very carefully hoarding it as much as I can! This works well for LIM - I'm not tempted to put big swaths of patterned paper out there, at least! I love these rich colors, and of course, the smiling sea turtle. Can't go wrong there! Whale Done Stamp Set; Whale of a Time DSP (retired); Basic White & Tranquil Tide CS; Tranquil Tide Ink; Smooth Sailing Dies; #LIM442. Let's Get Messy - May 15, 3 pm! Ah, our favorite techniques class of the year is finally here! In this class we explore new techniques, tools and goodies, that maybe make a bit of a (ahem) mess! Want to try something new, but feel a bit nervous to get started? Come make the mess at MY house! Class features 5 cards and envelopes, and includes all supplies needed (bring your own fave snips and adhesive!), snacks, drinks and a special gift from me, all for $25! This class can also be FREE with your order of $30 or more! RSVP today to save your spot! And DON'T wear white! Such a sweet color combo they have for us at Less Is More #440 this week! After some browsing, I decided to take another crack at the Wrapped Bouquet set. I have to say up front, I've been a little frustrated with the images in this set, which are a combo of solid shapes and line drawings. I haven't been happy with the images stamped in green for the leaves - I think it looks a little off around the flowers. But, dang, maybe heat-embossing has been the answer all along! I am totally stoked about how it looks in gold, with shades of pink for the flowers! And a bit of newsprint is perfect to pick up the gray! Yes! I think I'm skirting the "stuff" edge for LIM here, but I also like my tiny details to button it all up. I think this is in the running for a 21 year anniversary card for hubby! Wrapped Bouquet Stamp Set; Basic White CS; Versamark & Smoky Slate Inks; Gold EP; Flirty Flamingo Blends Marker; Wrapped Flowers & Stitched With Whimsy Dies; Gold Glitter Enamel Dots; #LIM440. Here I am back at Stampin' Pals #12 - the challenge this month is "favorite technique!" I was hard-pressed to pick just one thing, lol. And I'm not sure if what I fell back on even qualifies! I LOVE to color and fussy cut - so much! Is that a technique? I added my next fave in line, paper-piecing, just in case, lol. We have so many great dies these days, I had to really dig for a good one that I'd cut by hand - and Hot Dog wins the day! Check out this little cutie! I stamped and colored him with my blends, the paper-pieced him a little blanket and beret, lol - too cute, right? After I fussy cut my guy, I cut an extra flap at the top of the blanket, to fold behind him, creating a softer edge - I love the look! Purple Posy looks perfect on him! Hot Dog Stamp Set; Purple Posy DSP; Whisper White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Purple Posy Inks; Crumb Cake Blend Marker; Basic Black Stamp-n-Write Marker; Rectangle Stitched Dies; #SPC012. Heart To Heart Stamp Set; Terracotta Tile, Blushing Bride, Poppy Parade & Snail Mail DSP; Whisper White CS; Terracotta Tile Ink; Stitched Be Mine & Stitched Shapes Dies; Silver Pearls; #TOC181. I can JUST squeak in to a new challenge I've been wanting to try for some time - this is the love-inspired Cupcake Inspirations #512! So tasty, I can't resist, lol. I decided to pull out my rarely-used Heart To Heart set for this one - it has a little outline heart stamp in it that's just right! I made a lovely spray of hearts in tasty cupcake colors across my front panel, and floated this little sentiment over it all. I think I'll leave off any Valentine's reference - it can be a little love note any time of year that way! I'm a little embarrassed - I actually only got this set for the DIES, lol - I think this might be the second time I've ever used it! Yikes! Heart To Heart Stamp Set; Whisper White & Early Espresso CS; Early Espresso, Real Red, Merry Merlot, Calypso Coral & Poppy Parade Inks; Banners Pick A Punch; #CI512. Pumpkin Club February 27! Less Is More #436 is celebrating a BIG milestone - with CHOCOLATE! It's their 10th Birthday this week! Congrats, ladies! So, ugh, there IS such a thing as chocolate overload - I just did a chocolate card yesterday, lol. However, I remembered this adorable set from 2018 - I don't think I ever used it enough! Ironically, this set is called More Than Chocolate - the same as my blog post yesterday - sigh. I had a good time putting together this little box of sweets, and imagining all the flavors I might have in there! Yum! More Than Chocolate Stamp Set (retired 2018); Whisper White CS; Real Red, Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake & Blushing Bride Inks; #LIM436. Pumpkin Club February 27! In perfect timing, CAS on Friday #198 has a "love" theme for us this week! I don't tend to gravitate towards the Valentine-specific stamp sets these days, but I can always find some "love" in the sets I do have, lol. It occurred to me that I don't think I've ever used these die-cut words from our adorable Nothing's Better Than bundle - so let's do it! Now, I do admit, it feels a little sacrilegious to put this out on a card for all to see, but yes, my guy qualifies, lol. I kept it all pretty straight-forward, and found some awesome enamel hearts at the last minute. Time to go dig up some chocolate! Nothing's Better Than Stamp Set; Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake & Early Espresso CS; Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake & Early Espresso Inks; Love You More Than Dies; Cherry Cobbler Enamel Shapes; #CASOF198. We have a lovely wide-open sketch this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #494! Won't it look beautiful in our bold colors at SU Only #269, too! I decided I wanted to feature our gorgeous Friends Are Like Seashells suite again, and wouldn't you know it, there's this beautiful Melon Mambo sheet of DSP that has a "bleach" effect - score! Looking now, I think I may have totally misread this sketch - for some reason, I only focused on the off-set layer idea, lol - oops! I had fun adding touches of the remaining colors for SUO, and snuck in some silver seaweed behind my shells. I'm loving the finished look! I hope you can join us at one or both of these challenges - I can't wait to see YOUR projects! Friends Are Like Seashells Stamp Set; Sand & Sea DSP; Whisper White, Basic Black & Silver Foil CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Melon Mambo Inks; Seaside Seashells Die; Opal Rounds; #TSOT494; #SUOC269. We have a lovely romantic sketch this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #492, and we'd like to see a 3-D item for SU Only #268. And just to round out my three-fer, I have these perfect bold colors from Retro Rubber #151 - black, white and red! This is a tall order! I started by deciding on a tag for my 3-D item - just in time for hubby's Valentine's present, too! I went on the prowl for something old and gooey (lol) on my shelves of retirement, and came across PS. I Love You from 2012 - still so sweet! This is the one that has the little chocolate-covered strawberry in it, too - remember that? Yum! Anyway, this "heart of hearts" was my fave image from that set, and I even still have the punch, natch. From there, all I needed to do was shrink down the sketch to fit on a tag - whew! I love how it came out, and can't wait to plant it on my sweetie! I can't wait to see YOUR projects this week, too - meet you at the challenges! PS. I Love You Stamp Set (retired 2012); Basic Black, Real Red & Whisper White CS; Real Red & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Full Heart & Scallop Edge Border Punches (both retired); Real Red Cotton Ribbon; Clothespin; Resin Heart Embellishments; #TSOT492; #SUOC268; #RRCB151. |
