About Me Hi, my name is Heather Heroldt and I live in Scottsdale, Arizona. I've been a fiber artist since 1988, and most of my interests have "spun-off" my fiber work. I spin and weave, but lately I have been focusing on narrow-wares, like inkle and lucet. Mostly what attracts me to crafts in general is color, and the endless ways to vary them. I'd always wanted to try soap-making, and an obsession with Lush products finally drove me to explore this craft as well. Let's just see where it leads. I'm sure Lush need have no fears, but I'm having fun with it. I'm a member of Croft (that's Celtic Re-enactment Organization for Fellowship and Trades) and the more well-known SCA, where I reside in the Kingdom of Atenveldt. Croft's major activity is living history demonstration at the Arizona Renaissance Festival, but they take in a few other events over the year as well. I'm relatively new to SCA, but like Croft, it seemed like a great place to dress up funny and indulge in period hand-work. There's a lot for me to learn, from a lot of people. I've always been a reader, I used to get in trouble as a kid reading in class instead of working! My worst punishment was to have my books taken away from me: cereal boxes only have so much material. Naturally, I went on to take a Bachelor's in Literature, and I have found it to stand me in good stead in all areas of my life. It's amazing the number of people today who don't read or write! I created this website mostly because I needed somewhere to organize and document all my various activities, and Saragrace keeps complaining that I need to put pictures of my work out on the net so she can send people there. Thus, this site was born. Hopefully, it will only get better with time!
